Misunderstood

She ain't antisocial, she's just shy.
Why's she shy? I don't know, ask her.
You don't want to ask her? Why not?
Who cares what others think? Go ask her.
So now you're afraid? Who knows, maybe she's nice.
She looks funny? I'm sure she has her reasons.
She isn't mean, she's just afraid.
Why don't you try asking her? Maybe you'll understand if you talk to her.
Don't be mean, its not fair to her.
Go on, go say hi.

***

Well?
See, I told you she might be nice.
Good, now she has a friend to talk to.
You shouldn't ever judge someone by their looks.
I'm proud of you.

It's wrong to misjudge people, I'm sure you've been told that all your life. That's because it's one of the biggest mistakes people ever make. And it can cost you at some point. Who knows? That person you ignored because of their looks could have been your best friend one day, or that perfect someone. But you turned away from them because they didn't look 'appealing'.

You can also misjudge people the other way around, if you think about it. You might be attracted to someone because of their looks; but in truth they're personality is not as pretty as their looks. You might end up getting hurt in the end.

Everyone always tells you: don't judge a book by its cover. Yet sometimes it's hard not to. As some people say: books have a cover for a reason. But in truth, the covers HELP you judge the book, they only supply a piece of what it is. You should take everything into consideration, inside and out. That's the only way to be completely fair.

The Lesson

I had to write a poem for the book called Tuesdays With Morrie. Here's what I came up with. I hope you like it. Again, I listened to music while writing it, because music is my influence.

The Lesson

The strong and wise now withering away
As the rest of the world lives out its days
From their string of life they’d never stray
To hear what the old professor will say

For sixteen years they separate
Brought back together just by fate
Listen now, its not too late
Replace with passion all your hate

So big yet small this place to be
Love let in and you will see
Self sorrow is hypocrisy
Tears will fall yet set you free

Keep close to love, its guaranteed
Those who care help you succeed
To inner health you’ll always heed
And inside you’ll find just what you need

All mortals fear the years go by
Are scared of having to say goodbye
Purchase doesn’t fulfill, so don’t even try
There’s better things than living life high

Although unnoticed by some
The feeling can still leave them numb
Commitment is not in the likes of dumb
And the best will still have yet to come

Greed, praise, fortune, and fear
And losing the objects we keep near
The feel of revenge you shall sear
Its not okay to keep it here

If no issues you had to tend
The greatest day you would mend
But today your heart will seem to bend
For another life has to end

Ghosts of Days Gone By

Here is another poem I wrote, it's called ghosts.

The ghosts of the past
Are presented as fear
The ghosts of the present
Tell me why I’m here
Ghosts will tell the facts
Ghosts don’t always scare
Ghosts represent the memories
We were too scared to share
A loved one now lost
A day that stands out amongst the rest
The sight of amazing beauty
The moment you felt like the best
Ghosts are there to scare
Remind, repair, be unfair
Sadden, brighten, evoke
All with a single stroke
Ghosts are just mere memories
Of the days gone by
They are history brought to the present
Summoned by anyone willing to try
When the ghosts from the past
Come visit you one day
Fill your heart with the feelings
And don’t ever be afraid

My poems come from music, but not the kind of music you would expect. I get my poems from rock songs, and rock bands. I hope you enjoy :D
