Devour

People misjudge and misunderstand rock music. Rock music is one of the more emotional genres. Artists that compose rock music get the influence of their songs from their feelings, from real life experiences, from their life. One of the biggest topics, though, is war. It might not seems like it, see the judgment coming in?, but rock musicians hate the wars happening. My favorite band, Shinedown, actually went out to Iraq to meet the troops and play for them. Their song "Devour" was influenced by the trip. Nonpoint's "Frontlines" is about war and fighting. Five Finger Death Punch's "Far From Home" is about troops leaving home and possibly never coming back. Those are the one's I can think of right now, but I'm right, and you know it.

A person's mind is complex. Some are more than others. It seems like a rockstar's mind is the most complex when it come to writing songs. They combine their feelings, their thoughts, their memories, and compose them into the best song they can. They can write about a dream, or a death, or an incident, or a certain feeling about, say, life, or a specific date in time they'll never forget, like the day they become a parent. Anything can be turned into a song, a story, a poem. It just takes really good writers to make it good. Rockstar's are good writers... some are. Everyone misunderstands them, they're songs are great. They have a meaning. At least more of a meaning than some pop songs. Try it out. Please? Then decide if you like rock. Don't hate it without trying it. That's not fair.

Check out these songs on youtube because I can't link you to them:

There's A Hard Life For Every Silver Spoon

Look at this definition of family:

any group of persons closely related by blood, as parents, children, uncles, aunts, and cousins: to marry into a socially prominent family.

This is the 4th definition for family at Dictionary.com
Of course, I'm using this definition just to defend my little story.. no not story... just something to think about. Some people say a family is only a family if biologically related. Well, listen... and think... to/about this:

Imagine a mother, father, and daughter. A typical family. The mother dies. The father remarries to a woman who has a son. The marriage doesn't work out, and the mother leaves. The father dies. The two children are taken under the guidance of a legal guardian. Their guardian decides to adopt from a foreign country. Then, the daughter's best friend moves in with her because her family has too many issues. So now you have the daughter, her best friend, her step-brother, the legal guardian, and the adopted child. Five different blood lines, five people who aren't at all biologically related. But they are a family.

See? Nice, right?

It's all that I can say

Here are some awesomerific quotes. Some are mine, but those that aren't I will put the name next to it, if I know it...

"I don't live to watch people die." -ME

"If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving's not for you." -??

"A heart is not judged by how much you love; but by how much you are loved by others" -L. Frank Baum

"Imagination is more important than knowledge." -Albert Einstein

"All men are liable to error; and most men are, in many points, by passion or interest, under temptation to it." -John Locke

“All that stuff about heavy metal and hard rock, I don't subscribe to any of that. It's all just music. I mean, the heavy metal from the Seventies sounds nothing like the stuff from the Eighties, and that sounds nothing like the stuff from the Nineties. Who's to say what is and isn't a certain type of music?” -Ozzy Osbourne

“Its difficult. People might just be scared of being in an uncomfortable situation. I have never had any difficulties.” -Brent Smith

"Am I not destroying my enemies when I make friends of them?" -Abraham Lincoln

"Life is far too important a thing ever to talk seriously about." -Oscar Wilde

There's more to come, so stay tuned! =) Hope you like.

Diamond Eyes

Life is like a giant puzzle. Who you are decides how big the
puzzle is. As you grow up, and make your way through school, you figure out what image the puzzle is displaying. Going through college and your early years of adulthood, that puzzle starts assembling. Some people never finish the puzzle. Sometimes its done for them. Some push through the hardest ways of life to finish it. The puzzle is you and your life. Your goal is to finish it. The picture may change over the years. You might put some pieces in wrong, you might not be able to find where some pieces go. But that's the point. Puzzles are hard. So is life.
When it comes to this puzzle, people are interesting. Some people rush to finish it. Once they get there, they don't know what to do. Some people like to take their time. Some people enjoy the journey, and don't want to finish it. Some people reach the end, and realize the picture isn't what they wanted. So they take it apart and start again.
It also depends how big your puzzle is. Some people get a cheat, and the puzzle is super easy. For some, its already finished. Some people's puzzles, though, are huge, with tons of different pieces. These people have to work the hardest to finish. But finishing it gives them way more pride than those that had it handed to them.
Some people cut corners on their puzzle. They think its finished. Then they stop and look at it real hard and realize they have all the pieces in wrong. They have to start all over.
Some people take on multiple different puzzles at a time. Strong enough people will finish them all. Often they will get overwhelmed, or confuse the pieces with one another, and might put the wrong pieces into a puzzle.
It all depends what kind of person you are, and challenge you are willing to take. Well, what do you think?

If You Only Knew

I really want my blog to be noticed. LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, I got this wicked idea.
Some people call a blog an online journal. Well, I have this project for school where you pick one of these four situations and pretend that you were there. You either make a video, audio thingy, or a journal. I'm going to make a journal, and use my blog to do it! Also, I can make the writing look all journal-ish, and I can put videos and images and quotes into the entry, making it all 21st century like. Cool, huh?
I think it's innovative and creative and it will really help my blog perhaps. So, until later, I guess, peace out!

In my Head

I was made to eat cow meat. :( I ate Betsy the cow!!!!!
Oh well.... I'm a bad person. I'm in a class right now about English/Science and I'm posting on my blog. o_0 Bad me!
I like school... to a point. I have a certain type of learning perspective to learn from. Reading books, and doing tons of hands on projects. Like in history, I love doing newspapers. In science, well... I don't understand science. Only earth science, because it's all words and no formulas. English is English. I like English. I'm a writer by heart, and English is all about writing. I like art, music, creativity, and more. Shinedown is my favorite band. I like drawings. If someone asks me one word to describe me, it's creative.
I hope you all have enjoyed by blog lately. I really am trying to keep up with you guys and keep you updated. Talk to me. Leave comment, ask questions, give suggestions. PLEASE!!!!!
I really brainfarted today, and I have not much more to say. So, very boring post. Peace out peoples!!!!!!! :)
P.S. I am going to Florida this weekend! I live in California. We're leaving at six in the morning and getting there at 3:00 pm. Fun, right? I know, I am soo lucky!!!! Get to sit in a plane for 6+ hours.

Sometimes Goodbye is a Second Chance

So last night I watched Oprah, which we recorded from earlier that day. The whole staff went vegan for a week. It was pretty cool, and some people lost like 11 pounds and everyone was more aware of what they ate. Great stuff, right? Right. But that's not my point. Then, they went inside one of the places that have cattle that they turn into meat. Yeah, it was really freaky... and depressing. There were all these cows. They got them really at, to like 1200 pounds or something. Then they walked them somewhere and...... killed them, to put it simply. Then they... you know.. they broke down the cow into all the foods that we eat. I totally understand, and they actually really respect the cow and everything (People aren't allowed to work there unless they respect the animal), but it really hit me hard. So I have decided no more cow meat for me. No burgers, steak, etc. Steak'll be easy. Burgers a little harder. But it'll be way healthier for me. Maybe you can do it with me? So far, so good. Try it. It might change 'you' as a person. And if you wanna change, voila! That's why I titled the blog like I did. Saying goodbye to cow meat is a second chance at eating right. And I'm a gymnast, I need to.

Beyond the Sun

I feel like... I am a thinker. I think... a lot. Silly, right? I dunno.... But I can never really tell anyone what I really think about. I feel... weird. Like I'm all spiritual and such. Which is SSOO not a bad thing AT ALL, just my friends aren't those type of people. But I still like thinking. I love debates. I'll give you one:

Which is better for the environment: Paper towels or air dryers?

My choice is an air dryer. The reason being that if we look in the right place, there is way more energy than paper available. To make air dryers, we use only energy, too. To make paper towels, you have to use energy to cut down the trees, and process the trees and such, then ship them and package them. So you're using two resources for these instead of one. Air dryers can be used over and over and over again as well, so you really only need one per bathroom. Paper towels are used once, then thrown away. It's such a waste. Even recycling them isn't enough. We should quit using them all together. And why do we like paper towels better? Because they're faster. Sitting under an air dryer for an extra 20 seconds is going to kill us? What will kill us is cutting down all those trees. You know, the trees that give us the oxygen we breathe? And as for the energy for the air dryers, use solar energy. The sun will never run out energy. You ever seen the sun chips commercial? "In 30 seconds, the sun's rays provide enough energy to power the whole world, for a day." I think we should be using some of it! That's a waste, for sure.

Hope you agree with me. Thanks for reading.
